Why cast aluminium is an ideal material for cooking
Choosing the right cookware starts with the material. Its ability to distribute and control heat can significantly influence cooking performance, energy efficiency and the final result.
This is why cast aluminium has always been at the heart of RISOLÌ® cookware.
Cast aluminium and heat distribution
One of aluminium’s most important characteristics is its excellent thermal conductivity. It transfers heat rapidly and distributes it across the cooking surface, helping to reduce excessive temperature differences between different areas of the pan.
This means more even cooking and greater control over temperature, particularly when combined with a sufficiently thick cookware body.
Thickness also plays an important role. A substantial cast aluminium body accumulates and distributes heat more progressively, helping to maintain a stable cooking temperature even when food is added to the pan.
The result is cookware that responds efficiently to heat while providing the thermal stability required for controlled cooking.
Why RISOLÌ® uses high-thickness cast aluminium
Not all aluminium cookware is the same.
RISOLÌ® manufactures high-thickness cast aluminium cookware in Lumezzane, Italy, designed to combine heat distribution, strength and ease of use.
The casting process also allows shapes and thicknesses to be engineered according to the intended cooking function. The result is a solid cookware body that distributes heat across the entire surface and helps maintain progressive and controlled temperatures.
This is very different from extremely thin and lightweight cookware. For RISOLÌ®, the body of a pan is not simply a container: it is an essential part of the cooking process.
Non-stick coatings and cooking control
Our cast aluminium bodies are combined with non-stick coatings specifically developed for food-contact applications, selected according to the characteristics of each RISOLÌ® collection.
A high-quality non-stick surface helps food release easily and allows cooking with controlled amounts of fat. Together with the even heat distribution provided by aluminium, it also helps improve temperature control and reduce the risk of localised burning and carbonisation of food.
Non-stick performance is therefore not simply about preventing food from sticking: cookware body, thickness and coating work together to achieve more controlled cooking.
Traditional non-stick and new technologies
The cookware industry is continuously evolving.
Alongside established high-performance non-stick coatings, new ceramic and PFAS-free technologies are being developed and introduced to the market.
At RISOLÌ®, we believe that innovation should always be supported by performance, durability and food-contact safety. This is why we continue to research and test different solutions rather than considering one technology automatically superior to another.
Our collections therefore offer different coating technologies, designed for different cooking requirements and consumer preferences.
Made in Italy since 1965
Material alone, however, is not enough. What matters is how it is transformed.
Since 1965, we have manufactured our cookware in Lumezzane, in the heart of Brescia’s manufacturing district.
From aluminium selection and casting to machining, coating and final finishing, our goal has remained the same: to create cookware capable of transforming heat into even, controlled cooking that respects the ingredients.
For RISOLÌ®, good cooking begins with controlling heat. And it all starts with the material.
